1. Pre-Event

Marathon Expo Staff [CLOSED]
a) Provide manpower support to ensure the smooth operations of the 3-day Expo, scheduled to be held from 1 December to 3 December 2005.
b) Possible duties may include manning the helpdesk/reception, distribution of entry packs, general crowd control, ushering and render assistance to the Expo visitors whenever possible.
c) Assist in the packing of 20,000 entry packs on 28 & 29 November 2005.
Time commitment:      
19 November 2005 10.30am - 11.30am - Briefing for Marathon Expo Staff
** 26 & 27 November 2005 10am - 7pm - Packing of Entry Packs
1, 2 & 3 December 2005 Time (TBC) - Marathon Expo

** May be subjected to change. Volunteers will be notified via email on the change of dates once confirmed.



Roadshow Support Staff [CLOSED]
a) Support the Organising Team and provide general manpower support to ensure the smooth operations of the roadshows.
b) Possible duties include manning the roadshow booth, attending to public enquiries on the event and accepting registrations onsite.



2. Event Day

Sector Manager [CLOSED]
a) OIC of overall operations and ensure proper setup of the entire sector (incl. drinks stations, barricades, tapes, cones, branding, other physical infrastructure, etc). Also be aware of where CISCO officers (if any) are stationed within the respective sector.
b) Key liaison between Sector Leader/Route Marshals and Organising Committee.
c) Undertake regular communication between Sector Leader/Route Marshals, other ground staff and the Organising Committee to ensure all operations are as planned and under control.
d) Collect necessary equipment & welfare for respective sector on Race Day (i.e. Walkie-talkies, red flags, vests, ponchos, breakfast, drinks, etc).
e) Be aware of where the nearest First Aid Stations in your respective sector are, in the event of casualty or runners requiring medical assistance.
f) When sector has officially stood down, ensure all Sector Leaders/Route Marshals are transported back to the Padang for return of equipment and collection of token reimbursement & Certificate of Appreciation.

Sector Leader [CLOSED]
a) Assist the Sector Manager in discharging his/her overall duties effectively on Race Day.
b) Record the attendance of all Route Marshals on the morning of Race Day.
c) OIC to ensure proper deployment of all Route Marshals.
d) Be aware of where the nearest First Aid Stations in your respective sector are, in the event of casualty or runners requiring medical assistance.

Drinks Station Leader [CLOSED]
a) OIC of all Drinks Station Staff under the assigned water station.
b) OIC for overall manning of the water station.
c) Undertake regular communication with Drinks Station Staff, other ground staff and the Organising Committee to ensure all operations are as planned and under control (i.e. ensure there is adequate supply of water at the water station)
d) Be aware of where the nearest First Aid Stations in your respective sector are, in the event of casualty or runners requiring medical assistance.

Route Marshal [CLOSED]
a) Provide general direction of the run to the runners and ensure that the runners are running on a safe and unimpeded course (i.e. ensure that there is no intrusion of public vehicles and/or pedestrian traffic except for authorized race vehicles & personnel allowed on the course).
b) Be alert for runners requiring medical assistance during the course of their run and guide these individuals to a safe area away from the race proceedings before medical aid arrives.
c) Advise motorists on what is happening, why the roads are closed and what times the roads are likely to open. Where possible, suggest alternative routes.

Drinks Station Staff [CLOSED]
a) Ensure there is adequate drinks at the appointed water station and continuously refill drinks, wherever necessary.
b) Hand out drinks to the runners in a safe and professional manner so as to minimise disruption to their race.
c) Ensure area around the water station is free from used cups/bottles and undertake to clear as much cups/bottles away from the course as possible.

Baggage Crew [CLOSED]
a) Assist in the smooth, orderly deposit and return of runners' personal belongings before and after their races respectively.
b) Ensure that runners' personal belongings are correctly tagged and kept safe and secure during the entire period of deposit.

Admin Support Staff [CLOSED]
a) Assist the Volunteer Coordinator to provide operations support for the smooth rollout of the Volunteers' Welfare Programme on the event day.
b) Possible duties include crowd control, distribution and collection of volunteer feedback forms, endorsement of Community Involvement Programme (CIP) hours for student volunteers, and other general administrative duties.
c) Distribution of breakfast/snacks to all volunteers (morning).

04 December 2005 4am - 3pm - Event Day



Start/Finish Point Marshals [CLOSED]
a) Provide operations support to ensure the smooth rollout of the event
b) Assist in handing out drinks to the runners at start/finish point.
c) Assist in disbursement of Finisher T-shirt & collection of Championships from runners upon completion of race (Finish Point).
